DT Swiss RR 521 Novatec 791/792 Pillar Sapim | Aluminium Road Wheels – Technical Specification

• Carefully designed, dedicated set of wheels for road bikes, Gravel and Cyclocross (CX) in size 28″ / 29″ / 700C we build to order in Polish assembly plant of road wheels in Rzeszow (Poland).
• The set of Road Wheels we’re featuring has 28 spokes each, which is a guarantee of strength and stiffness while keeping the entire set attractively lightweight for such sturdy lightweight aluminum road wheels.
• It is also a compromise between weight and strength, as it is possible to build wheels with fewer spokes, but they would be much more fragile than the presented set.

DT Swiss RR 521 28″ / 29″ / 700C rims

• The road wheels in this set are built on the highly durable, lightweight and proven DT Swiss RR 521 rims.
• The inner width of the DT Swiss RR521 rim is 20 millimeters, allowing many tire sizes to be mounted.
• The rim height is 32 millimeters which contributes greatly to the stiffness of the wheel and its nice, eye-catching look characteristic of road wheels.

Novatec 791/792 hubs

• Lightweight DT Swiss RR 521 Novatec 791/792 Pillar Sapim aluminium road wheels are built on high-quality Novatec 791 (front) / 792 (rear) hubs.
• We install a standard Shimano HG 11s freehub body ratchet (we also include shims for 9s and 10s) or a Sram XD.
• The discs for disc brakes on Novatec 791/792 hubs are mounted with 6 screws. This is the most optimal solution because if the front or rear disc is bent, it is easy to remove and replace with a torx t20-25 or Imbus 5 mm wrench.

Wide choice of front and rear hub axles

We build a set of road wheels on axles adapted to the different types of bikes of our customers. In the presented set you can choose hubs on the following axles:

• Front: 100XQR | 100X12MM | 100X15MM,
• Rear: 135XQR | 135X12MM | 142X12MM | 148X12MM (Boost).

Testing and lubrication of DT Swiss RR 521 Novatec 791/792 Pillar Sapim road wheels

• Each hub is individually inspected by us after factory installation. We disassemble and then carefully inspect the bearing pressure with a bearing hand press, and correct any factory deficiencies.
• In hubs, the space between the pressure caps and bearings is thoroughly lubricated, which additionally prevents water and dirt from entering.

Pressure in DT Swiss RR 521 Novatec 791/792 Pillar Sapim Road Wheels

The pressure ranges provided for the road wheel set are:

• 2.5 bar – 7.0 bar under TLR kit,
• 3.0 bar – 8.5 bar on inner tubes.

Spokes and Nipples in DT Swiss RR 521 Novatec 791/792 Pillar Sapim road bike wheels

• The presented wheelset is equipped with Pillar or Sapim brand spokes, which are characterised by high quality steel from which the spokes are made.
• Depending on the customer’s choice, the weight of the target user and the purpose of their bike, we use and recommend the following spoke options:
  • 2.0/1.6mm up to 95kg,
  • 2.0/1.8mm 95kg plus,
• The weight limit for wheels is 130kg.
• At the buyer’s request we offer tape wrapping of the rims for Tubeless kit preparation.
